YCIS Educators Series - The Benefits of Project-Based Learning

How is Project-Based Learning different from traditional learning? Learning is more than just getting the right answers. Speakers

Mr. Murray Forrest
Western Co-Principal
YCIS Primary

Mr. Forrest began his teaching career in London in 1997, having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in History from the University of Birmingham and a Postgraduate Certificate of Education.

Mr. Forrest moved to Hong Kong in 2006 and worked for YCIS both in teaching and leadership roles. He has a passionate belief in the importance of multilingual and multicultural Learning Communities, and the concept of supportive co-teaching. He is also a qualified Myers-Briggs personality Type Indicator instructor.


 

Ms. Hui Li
Acting Chinese Co-Principal
YCIS Primary

Ms. Li holds a Bachelor of Arts with double majors in Chinese Language and Literature and Education. Before joining YCIS Hong Kong to become a teacher in the Primary Section in 2001, she already had 10 years of teaching experience in mainland China.

Being an experienced educator, Ms. Li led her team to investigate and implement different teaching strategies. In 2008, she was one of the first YCIS Hong Kong teachers who received the award of the Foundation’s High Potential teacher, a recognition that she still holds today.


 

Ms. Olivia Siu
Chinese Head of Upper Primary
YCIS

Ms. Siu holds a Bachelor of Education in Chinese Language Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University and a Master’s Degree in Chinese Language Education from The University of Hong Kong.

Joined YCIS Primary in 2006,  as a Chinese teacher, team leader and Head of Upper Primary, Ms. Siu focuses on the development of students’ multiple intelligences and different learning needs. She is a passionate believer in collaborative Learning Communities and supporting multilingual learning.
