Last November, our Year 10 student Augusta Avril Tang won the 1st runner-up of Solo Jazz in the Dance World Cup Hong Kong Qualifying Match. She will therefore compete with other international contestants in the Dance World Cup Final in Burgos, Spain in July. Let’s enjoy the playback of her brilliant performance!💃

Over 120,000 competitors from 62 countries have been competing at their country qualifiers and at the Dance World Cup Finals each year. This is the greatest all-genre dance competition in the world for children and young adults around the world.

In December 2019, Augusta also won the Gold Award - Ranking 2 in the 16th Kangaroo Cup Dance Competition organised by Hong Kong Dance Federation and The Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD).

To recognise her talent, the school invited her to perform a debut choreographed lyrical dance routine in the YCIS Christmas Concert. Her performance was selected to take part in a virtual cabaret on 13 February organised by Heartbreak Productions, a UK Theatrical Production.

Augusta has been a member of the YCIS Chinese Dance Team since Primary Year 5. She will join the team to represent the school in the upcoming 57th Schools Dance Festival in April 2021.

At YCIS, we highly value and appreciate students’ participation in co-curricular activities. Our students have been demonstrating excellence in music, art and sports. To learn more, join our Information Sessions now!
