Children Are Worthy of Our Respect and Admiration

“There is a great deal that adults can learn from young children. They are born with incredible creativity and with the belief that anything is possible. It is the responsibility of the school and of the teacher to recognize the diverse possibilities in each child. A kindergarten is a special place in which children may deeply investigate the world and their own nature. It is important that the teachers of young children approach them from a place of love and understanding so that children feel safe and secure and learn to love and respect others .”

Early Childhood Education (ECE) encompasses a holistic approach where a child is ‘seen’ and ‘understood’ as mind, body and spirit and empowered to be the best person he/she can be through relationships characterized by respect and admiration for significant caregivers; a responsibility an early childhood setting must take up in order to provide a quality education that ensures optimal growth and development for an individual child.

Underpinning the Yew Chung ECE Approach is the truth that every child matters. Providing a learning environment that instils Children’s Rights as depicted in the “Convention of Rights of Children” and supported by the Yew Chung ECE Approach is accomplished when all educational leaders and educators in the ECE setting adopt and practice “children are worthy of respect and admiration”

At YCIS, our bilingually focused, research-based, and holistic approach to education helps our students build a strong foundation and range of skills from an early age.
