Members of the Teaching Team Work Together as Equals

Throughout the school day, teachers watch children, consult with their co-teacher, and consider how to respond. This requires the co-teaching team to have a strong relationship. Because the co-teaching relationship is equal (no single head teacher), teachers must be willing to consider each other’s perspectives and to incorporate ideas and beliefs from both teachers .”

The Yew Chung ECE Approach intentionally builds a learning community, where all adults involved in the well-being and education of a child’s life are invited to be a part. Parents, grandparents, caregivers, classroom helpers, teachers, and leaders establish connections and relationships around the value and perspective/voice of a child.

Underpinning the Yew Chung ECE Approach is a global perspective that supports the meeting of East-West pedagogy, established through authentically and internationally-minded leaders and educators (experienced in inner transformation) who are committed to creating learning communities where diversity is acknowledged, celebrated and encouraged.

At YCIS, our bilingually focused, research-based, and holistic approach to education helps our students build a strong foundation and range of skills from an early age.
